1.
I dare you
to find a box of gluten free pasta that costs less than a zucchini.
2.
It’s Amazon
Prime eligible. Hello, free 2-day shipping.
3.
A spiralizer (the alternative to a julienne peeler) looks like a torture device straight out of a Saw movie. Google it, you'll see.
4.
It’s SO FUN
to use. Seriously, no vegetable in your kitchen will be safe.
5.
It fits oh
so perfectly in a stocking (hint hint).
6.
DISHWASHER.
SAFE.
7. It sells for
$16.99 on other websites. Which means other people are (foolishly) dropping that much dough on
a vegetable peeler. Which means it’s totally worth the $7.83 on Amazon.
8.
“Ergonomic
handle fits comfortably in your palm to lessen hand fatigue.” (Okay –
completely plagiarized that from the Zyliss website. But it is really
comfortable to hold…)
9.
Do you know
how much easier vegetables are to eat when they’re in noodle-form? Way way way
easier.
10.
Cause I said so. And I’m feelin’ a
little bossy today.

Disclaimer: I purchased my own peeler before reaching out to Zyliss. All opinions are my own.
I would make moroccan carrot salads with raisins and spices (and beautiful strings of carrots!). also making zucchini pasta with either marinara or a vegan pesto! would also be great with yellow squash or maybe sweet potato? I love this gadget. it looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteI also tweeted this! :D
ReplyDeleteColeslaw for my thai salad! Which I haven't made in awhile...hmm...now I want it.
ReplyDeleteVeggies to go with my homemade pho stock and rice noodles. Yum! With that thinness, they wouldn't need to be boiled, just soaked with the noodles!
ReplyDeleteI would make potato bird nests, deep fry them and fill them with a soft boiled egg and some salsa!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness.... I would make the zucchini pasta.. what a delicious sounding idea!! I'd probably use it to shred some veggies for a hearty meat/gluten-free lasagna. Carrots, leeks and LOTS of cheese!
ReplyDeleteI would love to try making "pasta" out of zucchini. What a cool idea!
ReplyDeleteMore than likely I would use this to make lovely shredded carrots for salad, as well as thin crispy baked french fries. I'm super intrigued by the pasta idea, though!
ReplyDeleteMy mother has a peeler just like that! I would use it to make a childhood favourite of mine - cold soba noodles with julienned cucumber, carrots, thinly sliced egg, and dried seaweed flakes. With Japanese soy sauce and sesame oil drizzle over it, it makes a refreshing meal in the summer. But I've been eating it warm for the winter months and it tastes just as great! Makes me wish I was home again.
ReplyDeleteI would make pounds of zucchini pasta. So delicious!
ReplyDeleteI would make zucchini pasta, since I'm newly GF and have never tried it. I would also love to julienne my own carrots for summer rolls!
ReplyDelete... aaaaand tweeted!
ReplyDeleteI would love to not hack my fingers to pieces attempting to make zucchini pasta for once! This thing sounds and looks amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what I'd make, but I would love to experiment with some new recipes!
ReplyDeletei would use it to make (sweet) potato pancakes! i'll probably buy one if i dont win!
ReplyDeleteThis would work well for a salad I make in the summer--julienned cucumber or zucchini, halved grape tomatoes, fresh basil, sometimes bits of fresh mozzarella.
ReplyDeleteZucchini pad thai!
ReplyDeleteAlso tweeted!
ReplyDeletelatkes! :)
ReplyDeleteI would use it to shred up some heirloom potatoes and make a hash with some sausage, peppers, onions and melted swiss. Fry up some eggs and use it again to shred some pears and apples into some warm cinnamon oatmeal
ReplyDeleteI would make gluten-free carrot cake!
ReplyDeleteOohhh I need me one of these! The first thing I would make is a fresh noodle salad - take carrots, cucumbers, beetroot and whatever else takes your fancy then slice them up with the julienne peeler and then add them to a little bit of thin rice noodless - toss through baby spinach leaves and some teriyaki grilled chicken. Yum!
ReplyDeleteI would make spaghetti using julienne zucchinis! They have a dish at True Food by our house with spaghetti squash and julienne zucchini and I've been dying to make it the fancy way like they do! Thank you for doing this! :)
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what I would make. Actually, to be honest, my boyfriend does all the cooking. And knowing him, he would shred pretty much everything in sight. And whatever he made would be amazing, lol.
ReplyDeleteI would use the peeler to make a world where people like GFB weren't so afraid of gluten.

I would make a vat of zucchini noodle Italian Pasta style, and go swimming in it, and eat it till it was gone and I was one big delicious garlicky tomato. Cause thats how I roll.
ReplyDeleteProbably the best hash browns known to man!
ReplyDeleteI would make literally every veggie in my kitchen into a noodle - especially since I've given up on the spiralizer since it's impossible to clean! Mixed with some Brownstone sauce? Delicious x 1,000,000. Love your blog! Twitter is @statestreetedit
ReplyDeleteHi Jessica! Please shoot me an email when you have a sec - katie@glutenfreeblondie.com. Thanks!
DeleteI need this to make raw pad thai !
ReplyDeleteI'd made spiral zucchini to eat with my cavatappi! And I'd probably try it on things like hard boiled eggs, chicken, salami, etc, just to see if it worked.
ReplyDeleteI need to eat my veggies. Yes, I admit, I would rather eat popcorn and sour patch kids than my broccoli. However...having this tool, would change all of that! I am imagining all sorts of deliciousness! So many glorious possibilities...YUM
ReplyDeleteYou KNOW you aren't getting a tweet from me :) I'd make (read: beg you to make me) homemade slaw!!
ReplyDeleteI'd make zucchini fritters with a lemon aioli sauce or roast julienne potatoes with some herbs to make "matchstick" fries to accompany a nice steak-on-a-stick. :)
